Arctic Animal Yoga

3's Class

We warmed up with a few breathing exercises to prepare our bodies for yoga.


 This is called "bumble bee" breathing. You cover your ears and hum.

 Here is our walrus pose....It feels so good to stretch!

 Miss Alicia and Miss Kylie joined in too  :-)

 Now we are pretending to be a great big moose




 Sophia is creating new yoga poses  :-)

 We had fun swimming in whale pose   :-)

 Well done 3's!


2's Room
We began with a few breathing exercises



 The "wood chopper" is one of the favorite breathing exercises...we  yell "HUH!" when we swing our "axe"

 Lily is pretending to be a lemming (a small rodent from the arctic)

  Now we are resting like the seals    :-)


4's Class
We decided to spread out in the rec room today...
  We began with a few bunny breaths



The we practiced a little snake breathing    hissssssssssssssss... 




  Whale breathing is fun too....
 And wood chopper breathing!    "HUH!"

  Now are bodies are ready for yoga!
 Lots of wonderful moose poses   :-)

 Savannah found herself a nice cozy rug    :-)
 This is the walrus pose

  Now we are swimming like whales....this is a great way to work your triceps, chest, and back!

 The snow goose pose provides a deep stretch for your legs....

 Oliver is really focused

  Now its time to curve our backs like the big Musk Ox

 Now we are curling up like a little lemming   :-)



 Resting like baby seals.......



The Toddlers and I did a few "Winter Animal" action cards...


  First, we crawled and growled like polar bears  :-)


 They really like pretending to be bears, so we kept it up! 
  Next, we swam like whales!

  Jake really loved swimming!

  Drew, Jake and Leona are laughing so hard!



 Greta is howling like a wolf!

  We ended by flying like birds   :-)

Way to go toddler friends  :-)

Nursery friends

 Beckett is working his arms and legs!
  Alex is showing us his yoga moves   :-)

  Rowan is working his arms

 And bending his legs!
  Alex and I are working on "knees to chest"  He had a really big smile!

  Raelyn and Miss Amanda are working on legs open and closed...We were singing "open shut them"  :-)
