Bone Bonanza!
We had a spine-tingling good time in Nutrition Expedition! It was a bone bonanza!
I set up 3 bone discovery centers for the children: a large skeleton foam puzzle, x-ray painting, and real chicken leg bones to investigate! They've been very fascinated with bones this month :) For the skeleton puzzle, they had to try to piece together all the bones to make a whole skeleton. They're really beginning to learn all the bones of the human body, and where they are located. For the x-ray painting, they painted their forearm, hand and fingers with white paint and pressed them onto black paper, making a print that resembles an x-ray. Finally, they loved checking out the chicken bones with a magnifying glass, and trying to figure out where they came from (most of the children thought they might be dinosaur bones)! See the photos below!
