Ice skating is a great way to strengthen your legs, improve balance, and get your heart rate up.
Did you know that you can " ice skate" on wax paper? It's a really good way to exercise your whole body...especially when it's too cold to go outside!
The 3's and 4's class combined in the rec room for some indoor ice skating fun.
First, we talked about ice skating as an exercise. We also passed a few pictures around of people ice skating.
Time to get our "skates" on!
I put on some classical music too....because everything is better with music! :)
Miss Jackie joined in too :)
I really liked how the kids were trying their "skates" out on different surfaces. Skating on the carpet felt different than the linoleum. A few friends even tried skating on the mats too!
"Miss Kellie Miss Kellie! I'm doing it!" says Clara :)
Bodhi and Harper played with wax paper in the nursery. :)
And of course we tried a little baby yoga :)
The toddler room had tons of fun using their wax paper to slide around :)
They were watching me closely as I showed them how to slide on their belly
Looking good Kate!
We learned that it is fun to crinkle the paper too. (A great fine motor activity by the way!)
By the end, the wax paper was ripped into little pieces....they thought it was fun to pick them up and throw them away!
The 2's friends were pretty excited to try sliding on the wax paper!
This is actually a really good workout!
Charly loved sliding on her belly!
Johnny had a really good time!
What do you have Harper? :)
Audrey and Caelen are trying it!
Miss Dahlia was pulling a couple friends around on the wax paper....they thought it was great!
This is a really good way to burn off some energy if it is too cold to play outside. :-)
