Healthy or Unhealthy?

The toddlers had fun working on their balancing skills!

Miss Dahlia was there to offer a hand....

Henry's turn!

Drew can do it too  :-)

Bodhi wanted to give it a try too  :-)

I brought up the stepping stones too  :-)
Johnathan is standing on the orange one and Peter is holding it steady for him

We had a balance party!!!

Time to rearrange....

Nice job toddler friends   :-)

I read the 2's a book about eating healthy..

Then we sorted plastic food into 2 groups..."healthy" and "unhealthy"...I used a green traffic light for healthy and yellow for unhealthy. We talked about being careful and eating only a little bit of the unhealthy foods.

We decided to move the ice cream into unhealthy  :-)

Kate is adding broccoli into the healthy circle!

Zander is adding grapes to the healthy circle   :-)

Nice work 2's class!

Next, I called them up one at a time to put the pieces of food back in the bucket   :-)

I said "yum yum yum yum yum" and pretended the bucket was eating the food...some of the friends thought it was pretty funny   :-)

They did really well with this activity!

4's
The class did really well listening to the book.  They had lots of comments about different kinds of foods.
I helped them through the first couple foods so they could "get the hang of it"
Then I passed one out to everyone....
I told them to think about the food they are holding and decide if its healthy or unhealthy

A few of the friends were calling the foods "good" or "bad."   I encouraged them to use "healthy" and "unhealthy"    I reminded them that you can eat unhealthy foods, but to be careful  :-)

Finnley had one of the "tricky" foods. He had a slice of pizza and though it was healthy because  it had veggies on it. A couple other kids thought it was unhealthy because it was pizza....

We ended up putting the pizza in the middle because it can be healthy or unhealthy depending on how its made. We talked about a couple other tricky foods like muffins and waffles.   :-)

Nice job 4's!

3's Class

The 3's did a nice job listening to the book about eating healthy foods.  They were very curious about the circles and thought it was for the carnival  ;)
I called them up one at a time and handed them a piece of food. Then we decided together if it was healthy or unhealthy.
Hmmmmm...where do you think it should go Chloe?
DJ forgot that his food was called broccoli, but he knew it was healthy!

We placed a muffin and a waffle in the middle :-)
A few friends knew that this was a pop tart. I said " Do you think it's real fruit inside?"  The class answered "No."  We decided it should go in the unhealthy circle because of all the sugar.
When I was done Harper said "That was fun!"

Mr. Bones came to visit the Infants

Ethan put Mr. Bones' hand in the ball pit a few times  :-)
I was making him wave in the mirror  :)

Beckett was moving the arm up and down.

We put Mr. Bones in the ball pit!
